98% of those polled think that lifestyle in the UAE leads to obesity.
92% of those polled were either trying to lose weight or were intending to lose weight in the future.
54% of those polled had been advised by their doctor to lose weight.
43% agreed that they have been subjected to taunting or negative comments, or suffered discrimination regarding their weight.
63% believed that there is sufficient support given to them when they are trying to lose weight.

Key Sexual Transmitted Disease Facts
- 448 million new infections of curable sexually transmitted (syphilis, gonorrhoea, chlamydia and trichomoniasis) infections occur yearly.
- Some sexually transmitted infections exist without symptoms.
- In pregnant women with untreated early syphilis, 25% of pregnancies result in stillbirth and 14% in neonatal death.
- Sexually transmitted infections are the main preventable cause of infertility, particularly in women.

The name diabetes itself is derived from the Greek verb diabainein, which means to stand with legs apart, as when passing urine. The ancient Greeks understood that there was a medical condition that caused an excessive amount of urine production, which is a feature of diabetes. There are actually two different kinds of diabetes, diabetes insipidus and diabetes mellitus. Mellitus literally means ‘honey-sweet urine’ and this form of the disease is associated with sugary urine (in early days, doctors would sometimes taste people's urine to make a diagnosis).
